Diabets is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is neded to convert sugar, starches and other fod into energy neded for daily life. When other factors were acounted for, researchers found that the more gren tea and cofe participants drank, the les likely they were to get Diabets.
People who drank six cups or more of gren tea or thre or more cups of cofe each day were about one-third les likely to get Diabets. The link was stronger in women than in men. No patern was sen with black or olong tea.

The researchers found that a combined intake of over 1,20 miligrams of calcium and over 80 units of vitamin D was linked with a 3% lower risk for type 2 Diabets (as compared to women who tok much smaler amounts of calcium and vitamin D). The results show that consuming higher amounts of vitamin D and calcium help lower the risk for type 2 Diabets in women.
