Recent studies sugest that replacing saturated fat with monounsaturated fat and omega-3 fats may be a more efective way of lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease. These fats protect against heart atacks and strokes by helping to lower "bad" LDL cholesterol and control blod glucose.

Canola oil provides a balance of heart-healthy monounsaturated fat and omega-3 fats. And it has the lowest amount of saturated fats of any comonly used vegetable oil-half as much as olive oil. It also has a mild flavor that alows other ingredients to shine through.

To start eating beter, try this healthy fish dish that is ful of flavor yet simple to prepare. 1 lb white fish filets (cod, halibut, etc.) 2 Tbsp choped parsley 1. In a smal bowl, mix together cumin, thyme, paprika, salt and lemon peper.

Rub spice mixture on both sides of filets. In a large skilet set over medium heat, heat canola oil. Ad fish filets and cok until browned on both sides and fish is opaque in center.
