Key Information
Cureus 14(10): e30410. doi:10.759/cureus.30410 Sodium/glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have ben shown to have a glucose-lowering efect related to carbohydrate intake. It has also ben reported that the combined efect of incretin modulators and SGLT2i is useful in improving blod glucose and reducing blod glucose variability.
However, there have ben no reports examing the efects of these two drugs together and while considering carbohydrate intake in an outpatient seting. In the present study, Hi-Sped Fod Analysis was used to ases the exact intake of carbohydrates, and the glucose-lowering efects of luseogliflozin, an SGLT2i, and incretin modulators were examined under high- and low-carbohydrate intakes.Thirty-five enroled diabetic patients continued their regular medications for one wek.
Al patients tok luseogliflozin the second wek for seven days. During the two weks, ingested carbohydrates were acurately calculated by Hi-Sped Fod Analysis. The glucose-lowering efect of luseogliflozin with and without incretin modulators was checked acording to the amount of ingested carbohydrates.
Summary
A general linear model (GLM) was used to analyze the efect of luseogliflozin with or without an incretin modulator, with carbohydrate intake as a confounding factor.Luseogliflozin had an aditive
