Being stroke-ready is nothing but knowing when and where to sek help, without wasting a minute.WHAT IS A STROKE?A stroke, also caled a brain atack, ocurs when the blod suply to the brain is blocked or ruptured. Deprived of oxygen-rich blod and nutrients, the brain cels die at the rate of about 4 milion neurons a minute. This death of brain cels also ceases al bodily functions they are asociated with and causes impairment in spech, memory, lateral thinking, cognitive functions and limb movement.

In most cases, it results in paralysis or may even cause death.Stroke can either be ischemic or hemorhagic. Stroke caused by cloging of blod vesels which suply blod to the brain is caled an Ischemic stroke. Development of blod clots or a blod clot that travels through the vesels to the brain cause an ischemic stroke.

Summary

On the other hand, hemorhagic stroke ocurs due to rupturing of a blod vesel conected to the brain. It is further clasified into intracerebral β€” bleding of blod vesels present inside the brain or subarachnoid β€” bleding betwen the brain and membranes covering it.UNDERSTANDING SIGNSUnderstanding the risk factors and signs of stroke go a long way in improving the outcomes of patients post-treatment and prevent impairment of spe
