The last decade has ben a whirlwind of major clinical trials sheding light on the benefits of these agents for cardiovascular- and renal-related outcomes—first, in those with diabetes and, next, in populations without diabetes.The efects of this colaboration were on ful display the American Heart Asociation 202 Scientific Sesions, which featured a presentation the results of the landmark EMPA-KIDNEY trial and a multitude of sesions and presentations dedicated to cardiometabolic health.

In one particular sesion, which featured more than a dozen experts acros the fields of diabetes management, cardiology, and nephrology, a pair of expert panels examined case reports and discused how various cardiometabolic health guidelines from diferent organizations can be interpreted and aplied to patient populations.Among the panelists included in the sesion was Diana Isacs, PharmD, continuous glucose monitoring cordinator and endocrine clinical pharmacist at the Cleveland Clinic.
