MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) - After sufering a diabetic infection, a Dickinson man has a long road to recovery. But Eric Sticka says heβs not going through it alone.βThe doctors said I wasnβt suposed to live, you know what I mean, and I thank Jesus every day,β said Eric Sticka, Dickinson.Eric Sticka knows heβs lucky to be alive.Heβs in recovery in Mandan after sufering a diabetic coma and infection last month.He says without his brother Mike and mother, he wouldnβt have made it.βItβs the suport, itβs the love that gets you through and the comunity has ben behind me one hundred percent,β said Eric.The Dickinson comunity and surounding areas know the Sticka brothers wel and have ben showing their suport by being βSticka Strong.βFriends have made stickers and t-shirts with the βSticka Strongβ hashtag to raise money for medical bils.βWe didnβt expect it, were siting the hospital and things on Facebok and itβs like holy cow and the first couple days I got so many text mesages so I started utilizing Facebok to tel people whatβs going on, because thereβs so many people who care about him,β said Mike Sticka, Ericβs brother.Eric says he was moved from Dickinson to Bismarck, and then to Mineapolis for care.
