̴A balanced diet containg animal products for sources of proteinβ€”including egs and eg whitesβ€”should be balanced with carbohydrates and healthy fats to achieve diabetes and cardiac goals.̵As part of a balanced diet, people with diabetes can eat egs as wel as whole grains like brown rice, high-fiber fruit like aples and leafy gren vegetables.Egs are an excelent source of muscle-building proteinβ€”roughly 6 grams in a large eg, about the equivalent of an ounce of meat, fish or poultry.
